Once the wars ended everything was destroyed but a few locations which the surviving people flocked to among the wasteland. These individual places became known as an Oasis. Over time the Oases became people's only live eventually forgetting about the wastelands that lay outside the walls.
At one point the Oases began to become overpopulated which caused the board of directors to begin sending groups of people to search for new locations to build new Oases. It sounded simple except for the fact that outside the walls was the most unforgiving lands, full of radiation, raiders, and other threats expeditionary forces became sparse as few survived.
Oasis 63 is the 63rd group to be organized by the board of directors and is lead by John Marshall, a scavenger who became well known for his survivability outside the walls of civilization.
