Although not entirely about the type of PBEM (play by email) games PBEMPlayers focuses primarily on, the Lone GM Blog is still full of interesting observations. He writes about another type of online roleplaying: what the Lone GM calls Play-By-Post games. So if rules, game systems and dice rolls are your thing, check it out!

Thanks for the shout out. There are a lot of similarities between pbem and pbp games, particularly when it comes to post formatting and writing style.

Compared to pbem games, pbp tends to be faster, and you have the benefit of being able to read an entire 'thread's' worth of posting at once.

Unfortunately, the quality of the writing itself can suffer, and you end up with sometimes a bit more of a "conversation" than a cohesive narrative.

I'm going to advise that my readers come here and take a look around - there's a lot they can learn!
